Taking Google Street View Trusted inside

As the photographer for Moments in Time Images, I recently became certified in the Google Street View Trusted inside program.

What does this mean? Basically, it means that I will be going into businesses to do virtual 360 degree tours of the inside of the building. These tours will go onto a company’s Google pages.

When someone Googles a business, they will will see a little box at the right that says “see outside.” This is the Google Street View program, which consists of 360-degree panoramic photos of the outside of a business. Many people today are familiar with Google Street View.

The new program, called Google Street View Trusted, uses that same technology to take people inside a business. So businesses that have taken advantage of this service will find a “see inside” box when that business is searched. Clicking on this box will result in a 360-degree panoramic virtual tour of the inside of the business.

This Google Street View Trusted program gives visitors to a company’s Google page the opportunity to see the inside of the business before they even get there.

So far I have photographed a winery, a retail store, three dental offices, a home medical store and a service-oriented business. Many of these tours can be found on the MIT webpage under the Google Street View box on the home page.

MIT Images currently is preparing a separate web page to market and further explain this service. The service we provide will be called MIT Images 360 and the webpage will be mitimages360.com. Look for the site in about a month.

In the meantime, I am calling on businesses to let them know about this Google Street View Trusted inside program and how it will benefit them. It can have important SEO benefits. Anyone will tell you that whenever a company does something that benefits them on Google, it can only help their business overall.

All businesses today look to show up high on Google, and presence on Google is a very important asset to a business. Google has data that shows businesses that use the Street View Trusted inside service do have greater overall customer engagement online.

Currently there are Google certified photographers around the world offering this service. According to the Street View website, five are actually based in Nebraska, and MIT Images is the only Lincoln-based Google certified photographer.

Prices for this service are reasonable, starting at a few hundred dollars. Actual price is based on the size of the business and the number of camera shots needed to cover it for the virtual tour.
