Welcome to my blog. On this page you will find articles I personally write about the photography industry and my work. You will also see blogs showing the photos from many of my photo sessions.
The best way to introduce yourself professionally is through a professional headshot. These shots will introduce you, your business and your personal brand.
The majority of human resources professionals look at LinkedIn when finding candidate. Many also use Facebook and Twitter. So – a professional headshot is an important part of your professional life. A headshot should instill confidence among prospective clients, employers and business partners.
Consider what you want others to see when they look at your social media profile pages. Then think about some of the characteristics that reflect your personal brand. Then you will be more equipped when you go to your professional headshot photo session.
Here’s what to expect at a headshot session with Lori Black Photography. You are encouraged to dress the way that will reflect your profession. That might mean a professional business suit, or it could be a polo shirt. You are welcome to bring more than one outfit. Solid colors are always a good choice, as are tops with strong collars and necklines. Stay away from very bold colors.
I encourage you to wear clothing that complements your skin and eye tones.
I will prompt you in a few poses, such as how to hold your head, move your shoulders and place your chin. I want to make sure that the headshot you receive will fit you and your business.
The bottom line is we want your look to match the image you want to convey. While a headshot is from the shoulders up, I suggest you wear an entire professional outfit in case we get some shots that incorporate more of your body.
Even though this is a more professional shoot, remember to have fun. A relaxed, comfortable subject naturally exudes confidence.
