Welcome to my blog. On this page you will find articles I personally write about the photography industry and my work. You will also see blogs showing the photos from many of my photo sessions.
You want to trust your photographer. If you don’t have that trust, you should not hire him or her.
I assume when I’m hired to photograph a portrait session or a wedding that the people who hire me trust me. People who hire photographers need to have to put a lot of trust in their photographer. This trust will make your photo session or wedding less stressful because you know it is in good hands.
Here are five areas in which you should trust your photographer.
Don’t stress out about finding a place to take your photos. You wedding photographer will become familiar with your reception location or areas around your ceremony site to find the best places to photograph. The photographer will know where to shoot to get the best scenery and the best light.
You photographer will know that lighting is key to creating beautiful images. Using the natural light of the sun will produce the best light, but that doesn’t mean any time of the day will give you the same results. Your photographer will know the best time to take outdoor photos to that won’t leave harsh shadows on your face.
Trust your photographer to know what pose is the most flattering for you. Sometimes what feels like a great pose to you may not translate well to the camera. The photographer will look at existing light, the background and the subject to find the most flattering look.
Trust your photographer’s creative eye during the editing process. The photographer will know how to adjust the photo for exposure, cropping and more. The editing process is a part of the photographer’s style and this is one of the reasons you hired him or her. Trust the photographer to make each image stunning.
Your photographer knows the best place to get prints made. The worst thing you can do is have an image you love and take it to a cheap photo processing lab where it comes back looking dull. Knowing where to get your prints made, what size they should be done in and which ones will look best in your albums, wall art or thank you cards is part of the package you get when you hired a professional photographer. Trust them and listen to what they think will look best for what you want.
