Welcome to my blog. On this page you will find articles I personally write about the photography industry and my work. You will also see blogs showing the photos from many of my photo sessions.
Shannon Hergenrader says she knew she was going to marry her high school classmate Dylan within hours after meeting him.
She says she knew he was special to her when she first saw him. They were both attending Milford High School and Shannon saw Dylan with his girlfriend at the time. She says she felt really jealous even though she really didn’t know him.
“I know it sounds cliché but I knew I was going to marry him within hours of knowing him,” she said.
Shannon is from Raymond and Dylan is from Milford. They were high school sweethearts. They dated off and on for seven years before they got married three years ago in a civil ceremony. Dylan joined the Army at age 17 right after high school graduation. He deployed to Afghanistan for one year from 2016 to 2017 and is now in his seventh year of service.
When they had the opportunity, these high school sweethearts had a wedding for family and friends with a reception at the DelRay Ballroom in Lincoln. They didn’t get many photographs, however, because it was very cold that day.
I provided Shannon and Dylan with a recent post-wedding shoot. She put on her wedding gown and Dylan wore a suit. We met at Pioneers Park on a recent warm spring day to get some photos which Shannon wanted since they didn’t get many from their wedding ceremony and reception.
Shannon and Dylan live in Lincoln, where they like to hang out in their yard and grill out, watch horror movies and eat popcorn and candy. They like spending the summers at Branched Oak Lake. They enjoy spending time with their family and playing games.
Shannon is very interested in writing and playing music and also likes to paint and draw, act, model and sing.
Shannon is happy that she and Dylan have gone through life’s firsts together: first prom, first car, graduation, first house, a deployment. She says that is what has kept them so close.
“We have such a close bond that absolutely nothing can break. We have so much love for each other and we are best friends,” she says.
