Why hire a professional photographer
While doing some web surfing, I came across an article from few years ago that was published in Vogue Magazine. The article stated that engaged couples do not need to hire a professional photographer for their wedding.
Huh? That seems very odd. The article basically said that since everyone now has cameras in their pockets, why not let the guests take the photos and scatter some disposable cameras around the room for guests to take even more pictures.
As a photographer, that idea is extremely dumb to me. But hey, if an engaged couple chooses to do this, this is entirely their choice.
Five reasons to hire a photographer
However
, here are my arguments why every wedding needs a professional photographer.
- Most people don’t know how to really, truly, take a good photo. A professional understands the makeup of a photo. The average person does not. I don’t need to go into much detail here as I think most people get this.
- Your wedding guests for the most part are not going to take the time to get all the photos you want. Your guests are busy talking to their family and friends. They don’t want to have the burden of being asked to take a bunch of photos.
- A photographer will have the right equipment for the right setting and knows how to change camera settings when necessary to work in each lighting scenario.
- You will – or at least should – want at least one professional photo to hang on your wall or set on your dresser. If not you, someone if your family will.
- You will regret it for the rest of your life if you do not hire a professional photographer. You may look at the prospect of not hiring a professional as a way to save money. But down the road I believe you will regret any decision made now to save money when you look at the photos you did get.
