Welcome to my blog. On this page you will find articles I personally write about the photography industry and my work. You will also see blogs showing the photos from many of my photo sessions.
When was the last time you had your business headshot taken? That’s the question I ask on my web page describing my business photography services.
I have been shooting business professionals for some time now and am surprised how long it’s been since people have had their professional headshot taken. I’ve even found people who have never had one taken.
This type of photo is a necessity in the business world today. If you’re a professional, you need a headshot. If you have a LinkedIn page, you need one too – not a simple snapshot someone took of you. You need a head and shoulders shot with a professional background.
I call Moments in Time Images the place for the $50 headshot. I know of photographers who charge $100 or more for one photo. At MIT, I charge just $50 and give you a selection of shots. What a deal, right?
Why is a business headshot important? Because it is a reflection of your professional side. It is often the first thing a client or business sees of you. Your photo should reflect strength, confidence and professionalism.
The traditional headshot is a tight head and shoulders shot with a photography backdrop. I try to make sure my backdrop blends well with the colors you are wearing, which is why I have several backdrops.
Another style is an environmental one. This is taken with a different type of background. Often it is your work environment, or it can be an outdoor location.
Here is my standard method of providing these pictures. Clients come to my home studio and we take around 30 photos. We go to the computer and look at the photos. The client picks out five or so images he or she likes and those are the ones delivered. We discuss retouching methods and I get a feel for what the client is wanting. I demonstrate skin softening filters to see if the client likes them. If so I add them. If not I don’t.
It’s a fast, painless process. One recent client wrote What an awesome experience. Sooooooooooooo easy.”
So when it’s time for your headshot, remember Moments in Time Images. Home of the $50 headshot.
