Welcome to my blog. On this page you will find articles I personally write about the photography industry and my work. You will also see blogs showing the photos from many of my photo sessions.
One of the most popular trends in professional photography today are mini sessions.
What is a mini session? Basically it’s a session to schedule with a photographer that’s shorter — half the time or even less. A session may be about 30 minutes rather than an hour or longer. The photographer will charge less for these session and you still get the photos you want.
Who is a mini session good for? Anyone looking for photos for a specific purpose but does not need dozens of photos. The downside of a mini session is that you have fewer photos to choose from. But that’s often not a problem for many people and in fact may make it easier for many people who have trouble selecting photos.
Lori Black Photography is now offering mini sessions for family portraits, business branding and boudoir. The price for this session is about half of what you would pay for a full session. I charge $200 for the session and 10 to 15 edited digital images.
Mini sessions for boudoir are held in my new photo studio. Family and other personal portrait sessions can also be done in studio or on location someplace. Naturally this time of year isn’t ideal for outdoor portraiture, but we are bound to get some nice weather soon, right?
So how do you know if a mini session is right for you? My thought is it is a great option if you are looking for some professional photos in shorter amount of time, if you want to spend less money, and if you don’t feel the need for over a hundred photos to look through.
I’m going to post next about the mechanics of a mini session so you know more about whether this is for you. A mini session may be the perfect way to go for your photo needs.
