Reasons to take photos

 You don’t need to have good reasons to take photos. But sometimes it can be fun to find some good reasons to take them. In this article, I’ll explore several different ideas that will lend themselves to shooting photo. In other words – reasons to take photos!

Family history

My sister is a big fan of family history. She enjoys looking up past generations and looking at old photos of family members. One idea is to replicate those photos yourself. Look at those old family photos and try to take lookalikes with your current family.

Through the generations

Photos are passed from generation to generation, so why not create photos that future family members can treasure. For example, take a photo with your daughter, mother and grandma to show the generations of women in your family. You can mix this up in a variety of ways.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant, you will find many fun ways to show your progress and document it with photos. Years from now you will be able to show these photos to your child.

Schooltime

Many parents take photos of their children on the first day of school. Think of fun ways to keep taking photos of your children until they graduate from high school. Make a scrap book showing your child in the various stages of life.

Gender reveal

Make finding out the gender of your baby a fun surprise by turning it into a fun photo that you can share. Use props like pink or blue balloons or a cute colored frame to hold around your belly.

Pet portraits

If your pet is a member of your family, consider getting professional pet portraits. A pet photographer will be able to capture images of your pet that are much better than the snapshots you take with your phone. There are so many great ways to take some photos, whether it is at a park or in your own home.
