Welcome to my blog. On this page you will find articles I personally write about the photography industry and my work. You will also see blogs showing the photos from many of my photo sessions.

Lori Black Photography offers videography as one of its specialties. In this day of Covid-19, my videography is focused on residential real estate virtual tours.
Real estate agents have in the past offered a video of a home they have listed. Now, more than ever before, video has become more important. Realtors are using video showings to virtually show off their home to potential buyers. It’s a great idea. People shopping for homes can tour a home virtually, then if they like it they do an in-person tour. This helps eliminate time spent in homes that they don’t like.
What I do is simple. I use a stabilized camera and walk through the house as if I was someone touring the house. The stabilization results in smooth, not shaky video. I will walk through the house, showing the important features and the layout. Watchers can visualize the floor plan of the house much more than looking at photos. I put the address of the house on the video and set it to music so it can be entertaining to watch. I have been doing several walk-through videos in recent weeks as real estate companies are putting more emphasis on virtual tours.
While I have done real estate videos before, most of the videography services offered by Lori Black Photography has consisted of wedding video. It’s what we like to do and have lots of experience doing. It’s a service that’s in demand.
Now in demand, however, are virtual tours. Anyone trying to sell a house, or show off another property for whatever reason, should consider a virtual tour. It reduces the number of people in a property, thus reducing the potential for the spreading of germs. It saves time by allowing home buyers the opportunity to eliminate the properties they know they don’t like without having to step foot inside.
