ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY SESSIONS

Engagement photography sessions are typically a part of the plans for any engaged couple. Months before their ceremony, they will gather with their photographer at some favorite locations for a photo shoot.

These photos are important to the couple. They use these photos for a number of purposes. One is they use them as part of their guest sign-in book. Instead of the standard book with lines, they make a book with their photos that their guests can sign around. It’s a much more fun way to sign the guest book and allows the couple to display their photos to all. They also use these photos at the wedding reception, often displaying them in their reception hall.

A typical engagement session is one to two hours. We will meet you at a park or other venue and guide you through a series of poses. My goal is to get you to feel natural in front of the camera and interact with each other in a relaxed, comfortable way. The result will be some great looking photos that you will love.

Venues for these photoshoots vary. Some couples choose their favorite park. Some want an urban setting like Omaha’s Old Market or Lincoln’s Haymarket. The location is up to you, but realize the ultimate look of the photos will largely be determined by your choice of venue.

I personally love doing engagement shoots. It’s a great opportunity for me to get to know you a little before the actual wedding. I’ll likely ask you about how you met, how the proposal went down and learn more about you. I’m not being nosy. This information can be valuable for me as I determine the kind of photography you like and hopefully share your story on my blog.
