Traveling to a job

People often ask if Moments in Time Images will travel to a job. The answer is yes.

Just last weekend we had a longer-than-normal trip to a job. We traveled to Stuart, Nebraska, which is four hours away from our home base of Lincoln. We got up early — before 5 a.m. and were on the road by 6. We wanted to get there early enough so we could get some footage of the bride and groom getting ready for their wedding ceremony.

Just like most people, I assume, we don’t look forward to a long drive. Granted four hours is not a huge drive, but it’s definitely something that cuts into the day. The drive was a great way though to see areas of the state we’ve never seen. I don’t believe I’ve been to Atkinson and O’Neill — a couple of the larger towns we went through.

Once we neared, it started to rain and I was hoping that this would not be a rainy wedding day. Those are never fun because it makes the job of a photographer or videographer much more difficult. Luckily when we got to Stuart the rain had stopped, but the skies were dark enough that I was still able to snap this dramatic photo of the church under some ominous looking skies.

I was amazed at the beauty of St. Boniface Catholic Church. It was like something I saw when I traveled to Europe many years ago and witnessed several beautiful cathedrals. It was very ornate, and I knew it would be a setting that would provide some great images.

We set up our video cameras and the ceremony began, and the ceremony was a beautiful tribute to Megan and Billy, the bride and groom. We thank them for allowing us to be part of their big day. We were able to leave early enough so that our travel back to Lincoln didn’t put us home in the middle of the night. Overall it was a very positive experience.
