Many couples choose wedding videography, but some to not. Maybe they don’t want to spend the money. Maybe they don’t see the need.
We at Moments in Time Images see a great need for wedding videography, at it is one of our specialties. Here are five reasons why engaged couples should videotape their weddings.
- Weddings costs loads of money. After the wedding, you have your photographs and memories, but you don’t have a real life moving memory of it without wedding videography. A wedding video will capture not only the sites but the sounds and the mood of the day. If you’re spending that much money on an event, you should want more than memories of it. Memories fade. If you videotape it, you will be able to relive it over and over.
- The day goes by fast. A lot of time and effort go into planning a wedding. It is one of those events where people look forward to. Many women dream of this day while growing up. Then the day comes and it’s over in a flash. It’s over in a blur. There is bound to be some feelings of sadness to have an event so special and so looked forward to over. When you have wedding videography, the day may officially be over but really it’s not over. You can experience it over again by playing your disc or flash drive.
- There are aspects of the day couples have not seen. Brides and grooms are so busy preparing on the big day, they don’t get to see things that happen elsewhere. They don’t get to see guests arriving. They don’t get to see the expression on their parents’ faces while they recite their vows. Wedding videography can provide those missing parts that couples don’t get a chance to see. Maybe something is happening on the other side of the reception hall that a videotape captures but the bride and groom would not see. You never know what aspects of the day could be missed.
- People don’t live forever. Brides and grooms have grandparents and other loved ones who will be gone before they are ready for them to be gone. Having them on videotape will be extra special years down the road. Maybe their grandparents delivered a special message to the bride and groom. This is footage the couple will cherish forever.
- Regret. Everything I’ve read indicates that most couples who don’t videotape their weddings later regret it. While they thought they were saving money, they now have regret for not spending a little more and capturing a three-dimensional depiction of their big day. I encourage couples to seriously think about this. If they would like video but are hesitant to spend the money, I can assure them that if they don’t they will later regret it.
