About The Mahoney State Park Wedding Venue
Located at 28500 West Park Highway, Eugene T. Mahoney State Park is an exceptional ultra-modern park with so much to offer! Nebraska Game and Parks operate the state park. It has a variety of activities to indulge in, including hiking, trail rides, swimming, golf, playgrounds, a marina, picnicking, lodging, camping, cabins, biking, a ropes course, an arts and crafts center, an ice skating pavilion, and even a theater! The state park’s development began in 1985 when the state originally purchased the site. The park’s name came from Nebraska’s former state senator, Eugene T. Mahoney. He was also a long-time director of the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. He helped reverse the fortunes of the moribund state park system during his directorship. The Mahoney family’s crest serves as the park’s symbol. It even has a loop of cabins named for the Mahoney’s ancestral home, Ireland’s County Cork.

Eugene T. Mahoney State Park sits on 690 acres along the Platte River. The state park has quite a few lodges available, including the Peter Kiewit Lodge and Crete Carrier Riverview Lodge, which is popular for weddings. The state park has outdoor, covered outdoor, and indoor options for ceremonies and receptions, with 12 event spaces available. Eugene T. Mahoney State Park also has a ballroom, banquet hall, and restaurant to offer for receptions. The state park also features a beautiful 70-foot observation tower overlooking the Platte River Valley and park! Imagine the photos you could take from there!

Services and amenities include clean-up services, set-up services, an event planner, aisle runners, audio equipment, chairs, drapery, furniture, tables, tents, barware, china, a chocolate fountain, servers, bartenders, flatware, glassware, linens, and a shuttle. Eugene T. Mahoney provides beverage services, including house liquor, house wine, a limited bar, an open bar, premium liquor, signature cocktails, cash bars, champagne toasts, house beer, specialty beer, and wine, and even permits outside alcohol. In-house catering is also available and gives you various options for your reception. You’ll be able to choose and create custom menus that include desserts, hor d’oeuvres, stations, tastings, buffets, cocktail receptions, and family-style meals. They do not provide wedding cakes and leave it entirely up to you to decide on, as well as letting you customize decor, DJ services, and more!
