Welcome to my blog. On this page you will find articles I personally write about the photography industry and my work. You will also see blogs showing the photos from many of my photo sessions.
It’s the beginning of senior portrait session season, and high school seniors and their families need to start booking their sessions.
Knowing that, this article will provide some tips for seniors to look their best in senior portraits. That’s the whole purpose, right? To look your best. I guarantee Lori Black Photography will leave seniors looking the best they possibly can in photos. Here are some tips to prepare.
It is normal to feel nervous and unconfident before the cameras. I promise you will do better if you breathe deeply before the session and relax. Expect it to be fast-paced and fun. The worse thing you can do is look tense in front of the camera, so just remember to practice anything that will help relieve tension. I promise I will do my best to help you with this.
Your eyes are an important part of the photo, as they express emotion. Use your smile to light up your face and make your eyes look alive. Practice smiling in front of the mirror before your senior photo session and explore some different facial expressions. The last thing you want to do is have a forced-looking smile.
Breathing is important to capture the most natural look possible. Practice deep breathing in front of the mirror while you are smiling. Release the air in your lungs slowly while holding the smile. You will see your face and eyes settle into a natural and relaxed expression.
Move around during your photo shoot. It will give you more looks and create fresh looks. Try leaning into the camera as it will help you look more engaged. Shift your weight front one leg to the other. I will help you by offering suggestions on ways you can move to achieve some great looks.
Everyone needs to look their best before the camera. Senior girls should spend some extra time on their hair and makeup. Boys can primp as well to make sure they are clean-shaven and their hair looks its best. Wear an outfit that helps you feel confident and makes you look your best.
Taking these steps will lead you toward a great senior photo session.
