Welcome to my blog. On this page you will find articles I personally write about the photography industry and my work. You will also see blogs showing the photos from many of my photo sessions.
Have you updated your headshot lately? If you are like most, the answer is no.
I’m still amazed how many business professionals have an outdated headshot or even no photo at all of themselves that they use for their business. These photos are more important than ever in an era of business websites and social media sites like LinkedIn. Too many people use shots that are far too casual, such as snapshots taken of them by someone with a phone, or even a selfie. These bad shots are easily spotted and don’t look as professional as they should.
Here’s what to expect when you get your headshot taken by Moments in Time Images. You have two options — you come to my home studio or I’ll come to you. The cost is lower than you’ll find anywhere else — $50. I call MIT the home of the $50 headshot. Be aware, however, the cost could be higher if I come to you because I have to haul and set up equipment. This will depend on the number of people getting their shots taken. If there are many, the cost will still be $50. Just one? Expect a higher price.
I have a few different backgrounds, and you are welcome to choose your own. I try to coordinate the background with the clothes the subject is wearing.
When you come to my studio, you’ll get to see your photos immediately. We sit down at the computer and go through the shots. You will get to pick out your favorites. I’ll provide up to five shots — which is more than what other photographers do. Most I am aware of will give you one. And, if you don’t like any of them, we’ll shoot some more.
Businesses that haven’t updated their employee headshots in some time should consider doing this. A website will look better when all employees have similar-looking headshots.
