We are fast approaching the time of year when couples will be getting engaged. That means that wedding venues are going to be buzzing with activity as couples search for that perfect reception spot.
Here are some suggestions for venues for your wedding, or other party for that matter.
- The church reception hall. Granted, this option isn’t as popular as it was in years past. Until wedding receptions became such an event, couples would get married then simply move into the church reception hall for a cake and punch reception. It was short, sweet and inexpensive. Couples looking to save a bundle may want to consider this option, though we suspect it’s pretty unpopular these days.
- A back yard. If you have a nice house with a big back yard, that can be a lovely spot for an elegant reception. Add some decorations, some tables and chairs and you have an easy reception venue, and again an inexpensive one.
- Park. Those wanting an outdoor option can choose a park. Add a large tent to go over the main area and this could be a perfect spot for your reception.
- Barn. Many couples want an outdoorsy feel to their reception so they choose a barn for their reception. Maybe they know a farmer who will lend out his barn. Otherwise there are some venues with barns that rent them out just for parties.
- Banquet halls. These are the venues that are meant for parties and parties alone. You rent their facility, and sometimes need to use their caterer. These venues specialize in hosting wedding receptions and other bashes.
- Hotels. Hotel ballrooms are commonly used for receptions because they are sizable enough to hold large crowds. Many couples today opt for large weddings and want a place big enough that will hold all their guests. Hotel ballrooms are a safe option.
Of course there are others, but here’s a start if you are looking for suitable location venues.
