Welcome to my blog. On this page you will find articles I personally write about the photography industry and my work. You will also see blogs showing the photos from many of my photo sessions.
I have something to reveal about family formals: Wedding photographers don’t like taking those family photos. At least that is what I have heard from many of the photographers I follow online.
Personally, I don’t mind taking these family formals. I can get through them pretty quickly and still give the bride and groom time to relax before the ceremony.
However, I often watch online photography classes and find that the instructors often admit that they don’t like this part of the wedding day. They say it feels like taking photos that don’t require creativity.
Personally, I find these photos the easiest part of the day. The only thing that makes these photos difficult is when people who are supposed to be in the photos aren’t present and they have to be found.
The photographer’s job is to get the family formals taken as quickly and smoothly as possible and then he or she can move onto the more creative shots.
This article is included in a series of the various parts of the wedding day.
The family formal photos are the ones that are widely anticipated, at least by the parents, grandparents and other family members of the bride and groom. These people who are important parts of the wedding want formal photos that they can display in their home and show off to their friends.
When family members choose the photos they want, it is pretty safe to say they will choose the photos of themselves with the bride and groom, or photos showing the entire family together.
Parents love photos of themselves with their sons and daughters whose wedding they have been planning for a long time. Brides and grooms will look back lovingly on these photos to remember happy times with their families.
Brides and grooms need to get their smiles ready because they will be called upon to be in most if not all of these photos. After the wedding, they will be happy that they did just that.
