Welcome to my blog. On this page you will find articles I personally write about the photography industry and my work. You will also see blogs showing the photos from many of my photo sessions.
Lincoln wedding venues are plentiful. That only makes it harder when deciding on which one to book for your wedding. Making that choice is perhaps the first decision a newly engaged couple needs to make.
Oftentimes, the availability of a venue will determine the wedding date. The venue can make a difference in other wedding-related decisions that are made.
A couple needs to choose a venue based on their budget and what they want for the look and feel of their wedding. Different venues will give off different feels. For example, those wanting a sophisticated and elegant wedding may select a nice hotel ballroom over a barn-type setting. Couples wanting a rustic wedding may choose that barn setting.
The intent of this article series is to provide some information about some of the more popular wedding venues in Lincoln, Omaha and beyond. I’m going to first explore venues in Lincoln, as that is my home base. Here are a few of the venues I intend to write about:
Suite One Eleven, a beautiful reception venue located at 6891 A St., Ste. 111. The owner of Suite One Eleven says the venue is an intimate yet accommodating ballroom that seats 425 guests. Suite One Eleven provides just about everything that is needed for the reception. See article.
Wilderness Ridge, a golf club at 1800 Wilderness Woods Place, has the Yellowstone Ballroom, which seats up to 270 guests and is characterized by a rustic log-cabin like look. The room has a beautiful fireplace and chandeliers made from antlers. A manager says the room is so pretty that it needs little decoration. See article.
Apothecary Lofts and Ridnour Room, 140 N. 8th St. in Lincoln’s Haymarket, has some unique qualities. The north south lofts are available either for the ceremony, getting ready or even staying overnight while the larger Ridnour room is suitable as a reception hall for 300 seated guests. Any caterer is allowed, and couples can even bring in their own alcohol to serve during an open bar. See article.
Two great options exist at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The Nebraska Champions Club and Wick Alumni Center on the UNL campus are offered to the public by the Nebraska Alumni Association.
The DelRay Ballroom is located in Lincoln’s Haymarket District and is a beautiful place for a reception.
The Jasmine Room is located in the historic Grand Manse.
