Welcome to my blog. On this page you will find articles I personally write about the photography industry and my work. You will also see blogs showing the photos from many of my photo sessions.
Are you doing Pinterest wedding planning? If there is any one website that is being used more than ever in wedding planning, it’s Pinterest.
Many brides today are getting inspiration from Pinterest for their dress, their cake, their centerpieces and even their desired photos. I have been told more than once by brides that they want a particular photo taken at their wedding that they saw on Pinterest. I have heard many photographers hate this and will even go so far as to refuse the request. Here is their argument. As a new bride and groom you should want unique photos — not ones that you have already seen on Pinterest. Also, many photographers don’t want to copy the ideas of other photographers. They want to use their own.
I can definitely see their point, but I tend to favor the bride’s wishes. If she really loves a particular photo she saw on Pinterest, why not give it to her?
I’ve seen comments from one wedding coordinator that Pinterest is a great “virtual discovery” that will give couples ideas everything from decorations and dresses to colors. She says it will help help couples see what has worked well and what hasn’t worked.
Here are three ways that you might not have thought of that you can do Pinterest wedding planning:
1. Choose your vendor. Not only is Pinterest being used by brides, it’s being used by businesses as part of their social media campaign. Check out a vendor’s Pinterest page. They should have examples of their work that will give you a better idea of whether you want to use them.
2. Follow the experts. If you follow wedding experts on Pinterest you will be able to know the latest trends. It will help you know what to do and what not to do.
3. Share your engagement and wedding photos or wedding video. Pinterest allows you to post your own photos to your own boards. What a great way to share your photos with your friends virtually.
