Welcome to my blog. On this page you will find articles I personally write about the photography industry and my work. You will also see blogs showing the photos from many of my photo sessions.
Moments in Time Images was one of dozens of vendors at today’s Wedding Fair at the Cornhusker Hotel. We set up our booth, and for the first time emphasized photography over video. We displayed canvas portraits from many of the weddings where we shot photos at this past year. I think we had some great ones.
Also on display was our Samsung television in which we played a Blu-Ray disc with scenes from many of the weddings we videotaped each year. We played several wedding trailers, and people seemed to really enjoy it as they walked by.
What is all involved in participating in the Wedding Fair? First, it takes a lot of preparation. We had to have a new brochure designed with all of our pricing and packages. Then we had to have them printed. The next step was deciding on what to offer as a show special. We decided to offer the free entry level video package with our top level photography package.
We looked forward to the bridal fair in anticipation of meeting lots of new brides and grooms. Upon arrival, the next chore was to set up the display. That can be a challenging thing to do. You want to make a booth that will draw people in. I decided to place on the table varying levels to display our canvas portraits. Once the varying levels were down, it was covered by a black cloth. Then the portraits went up. You can see by the photo that we had lots of beautiful portraits of brides and grooms that brought plenty of color to the booth.
The clock struck 12, and the people started pouring in. We saw lots of young women with friends, their months and their grooms. Obviously the wedding fair is dominated by women, so we send kudos to those grooms who attended with their fiances. It’s nice to see grooms getting involved in the wedding planning.
Brides picked up flyers and brochures from the participating vendors, stuffed them in a bag, then went home to make their decisions. The Wedding Fair is a great way to plan your wedding.
