About The Gala in Lincoln, NE
The Gala was established in 2016 by Jeff & Lisa Rothgeb, who bring over 30 years of event experience to their business. With backgrounds in DJing and event planning, they’re a power team dedicated to helping weddings and celebrations go off without a hitch. Once they opened The Gala, they surrounded themselves with a team with a knack for customer service and event coordination. Many of them are still with the company today!
Details of the Grounds
The Gala itself is a spacious event hall with a capacity of up to 400 guests (300 with banquet-style seating.) The room has high ceilings that you can adorn with elegant drapery for a glamorous look or leave simple and unadorned for a more rustic and industrial aesthetic.
When you book the space, you’ll have access to a small stage and a head table perfect for keeping the spotlight on you and your partner all night. The room’s cosmopolitan, upscale bar is perfect for keeping your guests refreshed all night long, and is stocked with over 100 liquors, so there’s sure to be something to suit every palate.
One of the best attributes of The Gala is its neutrality. It is truly a blank canvas to fit into whatever vision you have for your dream wedding day! Bring in any colors, florals, and greenery to make the space feel like your own unique event; the sky’s the limit!
Additionally, an outdoor patio affectionately referred to as the “Beer Garden” makes a great cocktail hour space. With a small enough guest list, it can even be an intimate ceremony site! It is a great open-air area for your guests to enjoy fresh air, but the term “garden” may be a little misleading. While you can bring in your own greenery to liven up the space, it feels more like a small courtyard than a garden.
If you are planning on hosting your ceremony at The Gala in addition to your reception, they do have a Bridal Suite where you and your party can get ready for your big day.
Photography Opportunities
While we’ll be sure to capture every fun moment at dinner and on the dance floor for your reception, the focus of this venue isn’t really gorgeous wedding portraits. We can definitely find a lovely spot nearby for those romantic bride & groom and wedding party shots!
If we’re short on time, though, no worries. We can certainly get creative in the courtyard and find other interesting spots throughout the venue for beautiful pictures!
Wedding Details
If you are looking for the perfect space to throw an unforgettable party, then The Gala may be perfect. They have all the equipment you need for a good time built right into the space! Their Intelligent LED lighting system makes the entire room feel like a trendy nightclub. Additionally, their in-house sound system will get everyone onto the dance floor. Moving lights, lasers, fog and haze, and strobe lights will also add to the party atmosphere.
The party doesn’t stop on the dance floor, though. Your wedding package includes a huge photo booth, where your guests will pose and cheese it up all night. Then, they’ll receive the photos sent to their phone or email as a keepsake from your wedding. There’s also a soft-serve machine for late-night ice cream and a blended drink machine perfect for margaritas, daiquiris, pina coladas, and more.
You can work with any licensed caterer you’d like for your wedding, and they have a prep kitchen space that easily allows your caterer to load in and out. And, when it comes to décor, they have a 5,000 warehouse with various decorations, linens, chair covers, and more to which you’ll have access as you design your perfect wedding day.
