The Omar wedding venue is a beautiful event space in downtown Omaha that is perfect for a romantic wedding. With historic touches, romantic lighting, and a convenient location, it’s ideal for an intimate ceremony or a cozy reception for you and everyone on your guest list! Read on to find out more about this gem of a venue right here in Omaha!
The Omar is a beautiful, historic wedding venue in Midtown Omaha. The building was once the Omar Baking Building. Although it has been renovated to include more contemporary amenities, it still retains many of its art-deco details and original architectural features from the 1920s. Today, The Omar is the perfect place for an elegant wedding with plenty of space for dining, dancing, and more.
The Omar is a fully indoor space with plenty of room to accommodate up to 350 guests for a seated event (with a dance floor!) or up to 450 guests for a cocktail-only event. The building is a blend of historic architecture and modern, industrial touches. It has all original historic bricks and windows, three skylights, and characteristic wooden beams on the ceiling that can be decorated in romantic string lighting.
Your guests will love visiting the 16’ black marble Art-Deco bar. The smaller outdoor elevated deck is perfect for anyone who needs to take a break from the dance floor to get some fresh air.
While The Omar is a fantastic spot for a reception, it can also house a beautiful, intimate ceremony. Bring in any decor you’d like to set the scene for your perfect wedding and transform the space into a wedding that is uniquely you. If you do decide to have your ceremony at The Omar, there is a lovely bridal lounge available onsite for the bride and her party to prepare for the day.
With its exposed bricks, big windows, and art-deco touches, The Omar is full of vintage charm that will carry into your wedding pictures. Outdoors, we’ll be able to steal away and use the exterior brick of the building as a rustic backdrop for romantic portraits. The lofted patio is another excellent secluded space to take advantage of natural light and open sky.
Inside, the room’s cozy glow from the overhead hanging lights is perfect for capturing all of the action throughout dinner and on the dance floor. Should you choose to decorate with florals and/or drapery, we’ll also find beautiful ways to incorporate them into your pictures.
If you are looking for lots of elegant outdoor portraits and garden shots, we’ll find some spots nearby to escape and take them! The Omar is definitely more of an in-the-moment-capture-every-detail-location more than it is an ideal spot for lots of diverse, gorgeous pictures. But of course, we’ll work with whatever we’ve got, and we’ll still be able to get plenty of stunning shots!
When you have your wedding at The Omar, you’ll have the freedom to bring in almost all of your own vendors. They only require that you choose from their recommended caterers, but everything else is entirely up to you!
While The Omar doesn’t provide event coordinators for your special day, they will supply all of the chairs and tables, as well as set them up and tear them down. If you haven’t already, you may want to consider hiring a day-of-coordinator to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible, so you and your partner can focus on enjoying every moment in the moment!
If you’re looking for a unique space for your ceremony or reception, check out The Omar wedding venue to see if it suits your vision! We’ll find plenty of ways to take unique pictures you’ll treasure for the rest of your life, and I’ll take care of capturing every detail so you can focus on enjoying the day to the fullest.
