Welcome to my blog. On this page you will find articles I personally write about the photography industry and my work. You will also see blogs showing the photos from many of my photo sessions.
You definitely won’t have to worry about how your flowers are going to look when you go to Petal Creations and owner Stacy Griffin.
Griffin is 100 percent passionate about her job, which is to make wedding flowers look absolutely wonderful. She will listen to what the bride wants, but if she feels the bride’s ideas aren’t the best, she’ll let her know.
Stacy’s approach to her job is what makes her my favorite florist.
Stacy sees way too many brides go to Pinterest, find floral designs they like and try to make them themselves. She believes they almost never do them well. She feels that many brides have a misunderstanding about what a professional florist can do for them. And they misjudge how much money they should spend.
Brides and grooms should expect to spend at least $1,500 to $3,000 on personal flowers. Those include those needed bride and bridesmaids as well as the groom and groomsmen. This figure does not include the arrangements needed for decoration at the ceremony and the reception.
Sure, flowers are an expensive part of the wedding, and Petal Creations isn’t the least costly florist in town. But as the saying goes, you get what you pay for, and when you pay for designs from Petal Creations, you get the best.
That’s because Stacy believes there is a huge difference between an arranger and a designer. She puts herself in the latter category. Not only does she design the floral arrangements, she offers advice on other aspects of wedding design. Her goal is to be a go-to on numerous aspects of wedding details.
Stacy believes your wedding flowers will be “the final piece of jewelry you put on.” She is ultra-sensitive as to how they will look in the wedding photographs. Many brides, she feels, choose colors and designs that stand out too much. They may be attractive, but you don’t want your eye to go to the flowers in the photo before anything else. That is what many brides choose, Stacy says.
When you choose your flowers, think about what message you are sending to your guests, she says. Weddings should not look like Pinterest, and how guests perceive the event is very important, she said. Guests may not remember the centerpiece at the reception, but they’ll remember how they felt at the wedding, she said.
Stacy estimates she provides flowers for 25 to 30 weddings a year and she does travel. She recommends bride come to her a year before the wedding for a consultation. She will do her best to help couples make an impact on their guests while having the best day of their lives.
