The Apothecary Lofts and Ridnour Room are elegant wedding venues tucked inside a historical building in Lincoln’s Haymarket district.
Most people don’t know it, but the Ridnour Room is actually in a separate building from the Apothecary north and south loft rooms. Since the buildings join together everything flows together well.
Engaged couples have some options for this venue.
The Ridnour Room seats 300 people and is the largest of the venue’s three available rooms. The smaller rooms are the north and south lofts, which are used by many couples for different purposes. Some use the north loft for the actual wedding ceremony then move into the Ridnour Room for the reception.
Some use the lofts as places to get ready. There’s even sleeping rooms in the loft for those wanting to make a weekend of it. Some use it for the rehearsal dinner. Renting the Ridnour Room with a loft is called the “combo package,” said Crystal Meister, facilities manager.
Sometimes though, couples just reserve one of the rooms, which means it is feasible that there could be three events in one night. The north loft seats 150 while the south loft seats 100.
The cost to rent the Ridnour Room is $3,575 on a Saturday and $2,575 on a Friday. Renting one of the lofts in addition will result in a $1,000 discount for the Ridnour Room.
Couples can choose their own caterer. They can even bring in their own alcohol to serve to their guests if they want to have an open bar. Meister says many couples love this because they want an open bar but are concerned about the cost. Bringing in their own alcohol allows them to pay what they want for alcohol and serve it to their guests for a lower price.
Another aspect that couples love, Meister says, is the character of the venue. The buildings are historical — the Apothecary Building was constructed in 1905. They have been renovated into elegant reception venues.
