Weddings at the Jasmine Room in downtown Lincoln may attract engaged couples who have an interest in Lincoln history. This beautiful room is in the Grand Manse building, which is one of the oldest buildings in Lincoln.
The Grand Manse is an iconic building, and The Jasmine Room combines elegance with history to provide a wonderful location for a wedding reception.
The Grand Manse, located at 129 N. 10th St., was constructed in 1904. It once was used as Lincoln’s Federal Building. According to the Grand Manse website, the elements of that old building, including marble, oak and brass, were renovated into what is now a popular and widely used building not far from the Haymarket area. The building is even placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Jasmine Room event business is owned by the Venue Restaurant and Lounge, which leases the space from US Properties. The Jasmine Room features an antique bar, an LED skylight and beautiful chandeliers. The wooden dance floor is original. French doors open to a spacious outdoor patio. Event coordinator Lisa Petersen says the Jasmine Room hosts about 40 weddings a year.
It is a popular place, she says, because it is one of the most historic properties in downtown Lincoln. Architecturally it’s beautiful, she says. It has a unique mix of contemporary amenities with a historic feel.
The Jasmine Room will seat 400 guests seated and 700 standing, so it’s plenty of room for weddings that have a large guest list.
The Jasmine Room does not list its pricing, so interested couples need to contact the Venue for information. They would also work with the Venue, which is one of Lincoln’s premier upscale restaurants, on catering.
